A Week of Service in the Stillaguamish Valley

Lend a hand to the communities impacted by the SR 530 mudslide during a service learning trip to the Stillaguamish Valley.

General Information

A Week of Service in the Stillaguamish Valley will be a community revitalization focused event. This event is a progressive event that will start in Arlington, WA and will progress up the Stillaguamish Valley to Darrington, WA throughout the week. March 12-15 will be spent in the Arlington area and March 16-19 will be spent in the Darrington Area.

Over 35 university students will be working alongside local alumni, youth organizations, and community members to help revitalize the Stillaguamish Valley community. Volunteers will work on projects that include painting, small construction, cleaning, forestry work and many other opportunities.*

*A detailed list of projects will be posted in January.

All community members or interested parties are encouraged to volunteer in this family friendly event. We will have registration at the event.

Download the Service Project Contract and Critical Information  forms and return to:

Division of Governmental Studies and Services, Bryan Hall 301

Priority due date: January 13.  Final due date: 5:00 PM, February 26

WSU students may log this trip as community service hours for the Interfraternity Council and the Panhellenic Association.

This event is offered in collaboration with the Center for Civic Engagement.

University volunteers will travel to the area by van and spend 4 nights in Arlington and 5 nights in Darrington.
